Barbara Miller

Barbara has always been an advocate of the cannabis plant in all its forms. At 15, when her father was suffering from the effects of chemotherapy, Barbara witnessed the relief and appetite stimulation he experienced when prescribed medical marijuana. She has been researching and advocating hemp ever since.

Barbara founded Save the Earth Hemp LLC, not only to grow and create hemp products but also to promote public awareness of this incredible plant. Having traveled extensively throughout her adult life, Barbara has seen the need to find sustainable solutions for the planet’s environmental woes. Her hemp operations are headquartered on Crescere Farm which is the future site of Crescere Agri-Resort - an educational eco-retreat. Creating a luxury resort to educate, connect people with the land and serve as a model for sustainable living is her underlying mission.

Barbara feels deeply that the hemp industry should share knowledge and support one another in whatever way possible. To this end, she serves on several boards including The Virginia Hemp Coalition and Halcyon Technology Holdings LLC where she is the Director of Cultivation

Barbara began farming organically on Edgewood Miller Farm in 2014 and on Crescere Farm in 2019, after successful ventures in horticulture, photography, and real estate development.

Sue Miller

In 2018, when offered the opportunity to partner in her cousin Barbara's Save The Earth Hemp and Crescere Agri-Resort ventures, Sue jumped at the opportunity. Having grown up camping and hiking, Sue’s business experience, love of the natural world, and interest in hemp’s potential as an environmental and healthcare game-changer mark the perfect synergy with these hemp-centric businesses.

As EVP of Business Development, Sue has been an integral part of the Resort Master Planning Team with major contributions in strategic planning, project management, and program development. For Save The Earth Hemp, Sue works on genetics selection, research & development planning, seasonal planting, and crop distribution plans. Sue is also the Director of Agri-Business Development for Halcyon Technology Holdings LLC, coordinating joint projects.

Sue began her career as a management consultant for Ernst & Young working on large-scale process improvement projects. She then went in-house as Manager of Business Development for a Telecom firm serving the business community. Sue’s innate curiosity and desire to problem solve with a focus on social consciousness led her to receive her Masters Degree in Social Work at New York University. While raising her three wonderful sons, Sue founded several businesses. She parlayed her entrepreneurial experience into consulting for women beginning their own ventures in the Interior Design, Specialty Foods, and Hemp industries.

Justin Mays

We are so lucky to have Justin, our seasoned, dedicated and creative Estate Manager. Justin uses his wide array of practical and leadership skills every day, managing both Crescere and Edgewood Miller Farms. The fantastic supervisory skills Justin developed over years managing farming estates, and other ventures, is equaled by his expert hands-on capabilities and creative out of the box thinking.

Justin grew up raising plants and vegetables in his Grandparents' greenhouse business in Piney River, Virginia. There he learned to appreciate, respect, and love growing just about everything. Always enthusiastic to learn and take on new challenges, Justin views our hemp operation not only as a way to harmonize needs with nature but also as a way to revitalize the farming industry.

Henry Lancaster

Henry grew up visiting his family’s farms and learning about everything that goes into growing the food that we eat. He has always found farming fascinating and is constantly inspired by the hard work and ingenuity that it entails.

When Henry decided to leave his studies of electrical engineering at George Mason University, he took on a greater role at Edgewood Miller and Crescere Farms, knowing he wanted a career within the industry. Henry loves the challenge that growing hemp brings. Although he is a jack-of-all trades, Henry is especially excited to be growing hemp and is eager to develop innovative ways to grow, harvest, and process the plant. Both of our farms benefit greatly from the natural leadership, intelligence, efficiency and fun Henry brings to everything he does.
